All preconfigured user variables and variable sets are stored in the variables_config.xml file, which is provided with the Interaction Designer. The following figure shows a file with parameters for user variables and variable sets.

By default, the variables_config.xml file is read-only. However, the variables and variable sets can be modified according to organizational needs. If it is necessary to update the file, change the read-only property, and then modify the file as required.

System Variable Modification

Changes to system variables cannot be made by users. (Users can modify only variable sets. When system variables are modified by the development team, an alert message is generated when you open saved Interactions that were created before the changes were made.
