Managing Interaction Variables

The Interaction Variables sub-menu enables you to view, define and update Interaction system variables. New and updated variables have the following effects on the design environment:

New Interactions: New and/or updated variables are available for use. Deleted variables are no longer available for use.

Existing Interactions (updated variables): If an existing Interaction uses a variable that has been modified in the Admin Console, the variable definition is changed so the Interaction reflects the currently defined system variable.

Existing Interactions (deleted variables): If an existing Interaction uses a variable that has been deleted in the Admin Console, the variable is deleted from the Interaction.

Each time an Interaction is opened or captured using the Interaction Designer, the system automatically checks whether any system or Read Only variables used in that Interaction have been affected by changes done in the Admin Console. If there is a mismatch between new and previous values, the Variables Update popup opens. This window alerts the designer about new, updated, and deleted system and Read Only variables.

The Interaction Variables page is accessed from the menu bar by selecting Resources > Interaction Variables.
